The no-mobile policy fosters genuine, uninterrupted conversation, enhancing the communal vibe that customers rave about. Whether perched on a stool at the bar, nestled inside among friendly chatter, or enjoying the spacious terrace on a sunny day, the atmosphere here buzzes with a welcoming energy that’s hard to match. As one patron puts it, this is “a great place to enjoy a drink in a lively atmosphere.”
Culinary offerings at Sinclairs Oyster Bar span from the freshest oysters — praised for their notable size and pristine quality — to British pub classics that comfort and delight. The iconic fish & chips is a standout, boasting crispy, golden batter paired with flaky, tender fish that satisfies every craving. Those seeking heartier options will appreciate the traditional roast and pies like the steak pie or the savory onion & cheese pie, each served with perfectly cooked vegetables and potatoes. For lighter fare, the diverse salad options—from vibrant Greek and Caesar salads to the unique vegan falafel salad—offer freshness balanced with robust flavors.
Mouthwatering smaller portions, such as homemade fish fingers, Whitby scampi, and sausage & mash, ensure everyone can find something to enjoy without committing to a full meal. Sides like thick-cut chips, crispy onion rings, and garlic bread add that perfect finishing touch. Partner these dishes with a “nice pint of stout,” a cold brew, cider, or a zesty mojito or sangria, and you’ve crafted a truly satisfying dining experience.
Customers consistently highlight not only the quality of food and drinks but also the exceptional value and congenial service. “The oysters were huge and fresh,” writes Maria K, capturing the essence of Sinclairs’ seafood offerings, while Gary Forrest praises the unbeatable beer prices and “lovely country pub feel.” The vibrant beer garden draws crowds especially during football matches or events, adding to the dynamic social fabric of this gem.

It’s a place where great food, excellent ale, and memorable moments come together—a true testament to why visitors return again and again.
The terrace is always busy, and it can be a bit tricky to find a spot – but it’s definitely worth it. A great place to enjoy a drink in a lively atmosphere. Highly recommended if you’re in Manchester
Visited Sinclairs Oyster Bar twice during our recent Manchester trip. Went here for drinks and oysters. We also ordered fish & chips. The oysters were huge and fresh. The fish & chips was so good as well. Very good service and friendly staff.
This has to be one of the most atmospheric and visually welcoming pubs I know. Lovely place with creaking floorboards, nooks and crannies, a mixed crowd. They operate a 'no mobile use' policy, hence the exterior photos only. I visited on Friday night and the vibe in there was just about perfect. Great ales to; Sam Smiths Best at £2.69 a pint. I didn't try the food so can't rate. A real gem of a place.
Fantastic pub right in the heart of Manchester. Sam smiths brewery so you know exactly what you're getting. Larger for £2.80 is an absolute steal these days. Lovely country pub feel inside and good size beer garden. Can get busy when football and events on so plan accordingly!
Always a pleasure to come here. Great old fashioned cosy pub with plenty of seating/standing inside and out. Nice variety of beers on offer at seriously good prices especially for the centre of Manchester, in a prime location
Met up for the scooter ride out, tasty beers and classic Manchester pub
We popped into Sinclairs Oyster Bar for the first time for something to eat and a glass of wine! We were served by Diptesh who was very attentive and made our visit an enjoyable experience, he told us the history of the pub, it’s the 2nd oldest after the Wellington which is attached to Sinclairs! I would recommend that you visit this pub and savour a bit of Manchester history! All the staff are lovely, but Diptesh was the highlight because it is so refreshing to receive some old fashioned service in an historic atmosphere. Diptesh is a huge asset to the establishment.
Cute pub in a great location! The food was ok, service is self-service but very friendly! Would definitely go back for drinks!
